The Community Strategy, published in April 2003, offers an opportunity for Darlington - an opportunity to truly join together to achieve out shared vision for the Borough. The Community Strategy sets out that vision along with the key outcomes we aim to achieve to ensure our ambition is fulfilled.
Darlington's Community Strategy is an open expression of our priorities for the area. It identifies the opportunities and key issues for Darlington in the next decade. It is the result of extensive consultation and involvement, in order to ensure the priorities really are those that reflect the concerns of local people and organisations, and are those that will really help to move Darlington forward.
The time taken to develop the Community Strategy has been as important as the document itself. This is our shared Community Strategy – it belongs to the people and organisations in Darlington, and requires the active involvement of all of us to achieve our ambitious aspirations.
