The Northgate and Central wards were awarded £800,000 Fair Share Lottery money over a ten year period in 2003.
The Fair Share money has been awarded to ensure these two wards receive their ‘fair share’ of lottery funding. Some of the grant has been used to provide additional support to the Northgate and Central Community Partnerships through the appointment of a Community Development Worker.
The residents of Northgate and Central have agreed to:
- Make a positive impact and strengthen the community
- Work together and share ideas and resources;
- Enabling and empower individuals, the Partnerships and the communities
- Build the confidence of individuals by inviting them to take part in activities, events and planning projects.
Update
What has happened since September 2005?
The Central and Northgate Partnership have been very busy in planning how the rest of the £800 000 Fair Share lottery grant should be spent in the two wards. Click here for the latest update report.
To make sure that they stay focused on projects that are based on community needs the partnerships produced a combined strategy and two action plans, one for each ward.
