Darlington has seen many dramatic and positive changes in the last few years. Within our plans for the future, we have identified some exciting opportunities and some real challenges.

Darlington Partnership brings together public, private, voluntary and community sector organisations - such as those in local government, health, education, crime reduction, businesses, and local community groups - to collectively achieve our ambitious vision for the Darlington area, contained in our Community Strategy. Our aim is to offer everyone the chance to be involved in moving Darlington forward - we believe it essential to our success.

Aims of Darlington Partnership

Darlington Partnership is the Local Strategic Partnership for Darlington, and as such is responsible for producing the Community Strategy, which sets out the improvements we want to see in Darlington. We are responsible for ensuring out aspirations are achieved.

Darlington Partnership is not a service provider in its own right.  We work through the activities of all of our partners, co-ordinating and facilitating improvements and growth where needed.

Our approach is to tap into the resources and expertise of individuals and organisations within the local community to develop creative solutions and to be ready to grasp the many opportunities available to Darlington.

Significant achievements have been made in recent years, but we want to see more. We want to enhance even further the quality of life in Darlington, making it a safer, healthier and a more pleasant and prosperous place to live.
