Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College is recognised both nationally and locally as one of the country’s leading colleges. It has a formidable reputation for high quality post-16 study in a caring and supportive environment.
A series of outstanding inspection reports have highlighted the College's key strengths. The latest Ofsted Report published in March 2004 commented on the following:

The report also refers to the 'very positive staff culture with improvements in students' achievements as the main priority' and praises staff for their commitment to continuous improvement in all aspects of the College's work. The College's approach to social and educational inclusion is regarded as good whilst support and guidance for students are very good. Ofsted also believes that the College provides outstanding value for money.
Students' views about the College were taken into account and things they liked about the College were its good reputation, the friendly atmosphere, being treated like an adult, the good choice of extra curricular activities, the library, access to computers, the virtual learning environment and the helpful and approachable staff.
