Formally called the smoking cessation service, the Stop Smoking Service is based at Darlington Primary Care Trust and has two specialist advisors, Darcy Brown and Claire Askew.
The service aims:
to raise public awareness of tobacco-related dangers
to reduce tobacco use/smoking and the associated health risks
to offer the latest advice and information on how to stop smoking for those who want or need to do so. This includes details of the nicotine replacement products and other help available on prescription that, when used with support, can double the chance of success.
