The Economy and Environment group is responsible for determining priorities and co-ordinating the implementation of all activities which contribute to the economic well-being of the borough. It is the lead themed group for four of the Community Strategy themes; improving the local economy, stimulating leisure activities, enhancing the local environment and developing an effective transport system.

In particular, the group will deliver the Tees Valley Vision for Darlington, co-ordinate the implementation of Darlington's projects within the Tees Valley Action Plan, report progress on achieving the agreed targets and develop new partnerships and programmes. The group is responsible for an extremely wide range of topics which are, or shortly will be, all covered within this gateway.
